Anatomy of a great filling. Connect the dots.

• Direct composite restorations in the posterior region are one of the most prevalent procedures in dentistry. Advances in materials have made these restorations quicker and more durable. However, their widespread use does not necessarily translate to consistent quality, as overly complex techniques can lead to  frustration and time constrains in a private practice might lead to suboptimal results.

   

• Creating a high-quality filling is not inherently difficult. It can be compared to a "connect-the-dots" drawing—by simply following established protocols, one can achieve both durability and aesthetics.

   

• In this lecture, I will share the evolution of my approach to direct composite restorations, highlighting the key factors that have helped me simplify and achieve natural-looking results consistently.
